TIPS
A. Open a formal e-mail account with Yahoo Mail and use your real name as the username. For example, kamarazaman@yahoo.com.
B. You should write down your permanent (parents’ house) and current addresses in your resume. You should also include all your contact numbers – mobile phone number, house telephone (land line) number, housemates` mobile phone numbers etc. so that the company can still contact you even though you are unreachable.
C. When a company calls you for an interview appointment, it is advisable you get the following information from the caller:-
a. Name of the company, address and contact number. Ask for the name and department of the caller.
b. Get the exact direction to the company if you do not know the area very well. Ask for landmarks.
c. Ask for the date, time and venue of the interview.
d. You may ask for the items that you need to bring for the interview – e.g. original certificates, photographs etc.
d. Perhaps you should get some information regarding the job itself such as the job title, department, duties, place of work, salary, fringe benefits etc. Don’t worry if you don’t get all the information. Most probably, the caller is not familiar with the job. Don’t push him/her. Say thank you.
